Privacy Policy

Effective 2026-07-18

Gig Fling is built to help grassroots bands put on their own shows. This tool is a public good, not a venture, and we do not sell your data.

What we collect and why

  • Account Information: We collect your email address when you sign up to provide secure access (via OTP codes or Google login). Your password is encrypted and we never see it.
  • Band Affiliation: When you join a band profile, that link is kept private. We show the band to the public, but we don't publicly show which user accounts manage it.
  • Gig Planning and Usage: We store your saved gig plans, applications, and connections to make the discovery ecosystem work.
  • Gig Reports: Post-gig financial reports (e.g., ticket prices, attendance) are pooled anonymously. No one will see your individual answers, only the overall trends for your city.

Data Processors

We use a few trusted infrastructure providers to run Gig Fling. They process data securely on our behalf:

  • Supabase: For our database and authentication. Our data resides in their Sydney, Australia region.
  • Vercel: For website hosting.
  • Resend: For sending transactional emails.
  • Sentry: For error monitoring (US region).

Cookies & Analytics

We only use essential cookies necessary to keep you logged in securely (Supabase Auth). We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising pixels.

To understand how bands use the platform and improve our matchmaking ecosystem, we use PostHog for product analytics. We have configured PostHog in a strictly cookieless mode to respect your privacy.

Your Rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information we hold about you, and to ask for it to be corrected or deleted.

If you'd like to exercise these rights, or if you have any questions about this policy, please email us at support@gigfling.com.

Change of ownership

If Gig Fling is ever acquired by, merges with, or sells its assets to another organisation, the information described in this policy may be transferred to the new owner as part of that transaction. Any new owner will be bound by the commitments set out in this policy, or will ask for your consent before using your information in a materially different way. We will give you notice โ€” by email or a notice on the site โ€” before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
